Mesmerizing isn’t is?
House Bruges is a small terrace home renovation by the imaginative 51n4e. This tall space is completely covered in timber planks and the arch lifts toward the back, framing trees in the garden. I really like the custom kitchen furniture that was incorporated in this remodel:

At first glance it might seem sterile, but it’s actually very light, and the more I look at it, the more I adore it. It’s almost like these kitchen shelves are floating on air.
51n4e has the most amzing project portfolio, so if you haven’t checked them out, I suggest you do it now. I’d start with more on House Bruges and then take a look at C-mine and Lamot.

I could start the day by whining about HP customer service (because they are royally p@#%ing me off this morning) however, it might be more fun to look at a cool new blog; don’t you agree?
Check this find out…

Ah beauty. I LOVE it. Click on the image to learn more. This is just the kind of thing Just Seen is serving up for modern design loving folks. Although they’re new, Just Seen has already posted some pretty cool stuff. Stuff such as…
Modern Ceramic Tiles - really cool ones.
Martinelli’s Cobra
Krislyn Flowers
Brent Comber
AND can you even guess what this is…

All of the above posts are way worth a look - some surprising items to see. I’d also hit their parent site, Furniture Seen, which I had not seen, but am now super glad I have.
Now wasn’t that so much better than a random HP rant. Although, I am really fed up with them. You’d think someone there might have a clue about printers. Sad, sooooo, so sad.

Earlier today, we looked at some basics about this amazing home for sale in Seattle. We saw beautiful views and the home exterior. In this post, let’s take a look at some dashing interior views.
Staring with the main living space - very nice. Cool in a storm or on a nice bright day.

I got an email about this delicious house that’s for sale in the Pigeon Point neighborhood of Seattle. Usually our Offbeat real estate is a little more hilarious, but today, this house is no joke. This house is actually a unique home to consider; if you’ve got the means and a lust for Seattle.
I’ve got plenty of images so I’m thinking we break this up (page load times and all that).
In this first post, some basic info…
The house:
- 4135 21st Ave SW, Seattle, WA 98106
- 3 Bed / 2.5 Bath
- 2,200 sq.ft.
This home is a new minimalist modernist house designed by Replinger Hossner Architects (who by the way, design the most lovely of houses - check out Hill House!) The kitchen is designed with Bosch and Bertazoni for simple entertaining. Custom VG Fir built in cabinetry; dynamic steel, glass and ebonized oak stair system. Best of all may be the floor to ceiling windows - with views of West Seattle Golf Course, Elliott Bay and the Seattle skyline.
Do you believe this view?

Yeah you could sleep in a real boat, but on land, this becomes a little offbeat. The Waitanic Ship Motel is located in Woodlyn Park, (New Zealand) and is just one of the strange motels you can stay in. There’s also the The Hobbit Motel, the Train Motel, and a Plane Motel.
Actually, even if you skip the motels entirely, a trip to Woodlyn Park sounds downright kooky. There’s a Billy Black’s
Kiwi Culture Show where you get to…
- “Light the fuse to explode a log
- Help shear a sheep
- Team up and saw a log
- Experience sheep dogs working
- See the Kiwi Bear”
Not sure if I want to explode logs on vacation, but talk about a fun outing for the kids.
Learn more at Woodlyn Park.
Thanks to Mary Jo for the tip.

I recently reviewed two killer off grid home books at RiverWired. Both are so good, I’m going to recommend them as perfect holiday gifts for an eco-friendly pal (or maybe as a gift to yourself).
The books:

Both by Lori Ryker; both delightful; both major eye candy for home lovers. Check out the full reviews:

I don’t know about you, but this unique couch totally reminds of a Muppet. An alien-like Muppet. Maybe it won’t open it’s mouth and swallow you whole, but on the other hand, should you trust a Muppet alien?

If you’re so inclined to make a purchase, you have a choice of three alien-like colors:

Here’s what happens - you pick these up for a kid you know, and all the adults in the house steal these cool irregular blocks away and build neat structures. I know I’d take them. This set comes with 20 blocks in various colors.

Well you know I do love me some small spaces, and accordingly I bookmarked a blog I found, Small House Style, a while back. Then promptly forgot about it (as I’m known to do). I recently went back for a look, and it’s so very cool. Actually, it looks a little like a website, not a blog, but I’m guessing blog because you can comment (if you look hard enough). Secondly, it’s got some weird lags between updates - I’m talking weeks. But blogs are a work in process so it’s a-ok.
Also, take away the bad, and you still have a whole lot of good, because there are small houses galore for you to enjoy. They’ve covered basics like Tumbleweed, other killer small space designers like ARCHTEAM, who I love, and there are even some things I’ve never, ever seen before like Arvesund’s small Hermit’s Cabin. LOOK:

Awesome little space.
Visit Small House Style to see many more small structures. Bonus - lots of small space resources.
